Matthew Bowers, P.E. M.ASCE of SC Solutions was honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as the Outstanding Younger Civil Engineer in the State of California for 2017.
The prestigious award goes to a licensed professional engineer age 35 years or younger, who has exhibited professional achievement and made significant impact to the field of civil engineering. Matt was nominated for this award as a result of receiving the Outstanding Younger Civil Engineer in the ASCE San Francisco Section for 2017.
Matt was recognized for his commitment and dedication for the civil engineering profession. Since joining SC Solutions in 2011, he has been actively involved in bringing complex transportation infrastructure to the state of California. With a background in structural and seismic engineering, he enjoys bridging the gaps between disciplines and helping owners develop sound, risk-informed policy. Matt has been involved in numerous leadership roles within the San Jose Younger Member Forum which culminated in successfully registering the group with ASCE national. Matt also served as director and fundraising lead for the annual regional ASCE Bay Area Regional Charity Golf Tournament with proceeds going to ACE Mentor program.
