Attending an invitation from the Mexican Society of Geotechnical Engineering (SMIG), the Mexican Society of Structural Engineering (SMIE) and the Mexican Society for Earthquake Engineering (SMIS), Julio Garcia of SC Solutions presented a lecture on the topic: Seismic Analysis of Nuclear Power Plants. The event was held on December 3, 2015 at the Mexican Association of Civil Engineers, in Mexico City, with the attendance of about 45 professionals active in Structural Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering in the difficult subsoil and seismic conditions of Mexico City. The lecture addressed the current practice of seismic analysis of nuclear power plants, covering topics like: generic design, site-specific studies, analysis and design of new plants, analysis and assessment of existing plants, definition of seismic loads, and soil-structure interaction analysis.
